Friday 10 February 2017 dawned bright and sunny, with the promise of a great day ahead.

When the learners and staff of the school arrived at the Strand beach,  they were greeted with a wide mass of perfect beach, since it was spring low tide, and, wonder of wonders, not a breath of wind! What a day it turned out to be!

The Students’ Council and the Events Committee had combined their efforts and planned a morning crammed with physical activities including volleyball, soccer and ‘touchies’. This was followed by a sandcastle competition, which really tested the imaginative qualities of the learners. All the above activities were interspersed with quick bursts of rushing into the cooling waters of the ocean.

The final activity, and probably the cherry on the top, was the tug o’war competition, which was ultimately dominated by the RED team with its group of muscular stalwarts dominating all others.

Thanks to all concerned, those who planned and organised the day, and those who participated so enthusiastically. A great day of fun and bonding was enjoyed by all.
